CIVANGERS : CIVIL WAR

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone 😊! Today, I want to share our ongoing activities which Civangers UM and I did along this project.

Once a upon time, there was 10 members of Civangers UM started their mission in one project with an organization which is Toy Libraries.The Civangers UM started their discussion with team members about the activities that we will do with the organization.This was happen on week five.

On 30th March 2019 (week six), my team and I assemble at Toy Libraries at Apartment Idaman, Damansara Damai. In first session, we started with the briefing from Puan Jameyah and Puan Khaty which is the coordinator for volunteering of Toy Libraries Malaysia. She explained a little bit about the Toy Libraries and the community of Apartment Idaman.We also have site visit to their Toy Library.

On the same date, we also did ice breaking with Go Green Rangers which volunteer from Toy Libraries. Then,my team and I were separated each other and made group with Go Green Rangers. Then,we started brainstorming in a group about activities that we will did along the project with them. After brainstorming, we presented our idea to all members include Puan Jameyah.

At evening session, my team and I were started cleaning the area surrounding Toy Libraries. This activity very fun for me because I had along time not to do gardening and planting. In same time I taught my team about the name of each plants over there that they did not know. After finish clearing the area, we rest a while before we send a flyers to promote the Toy Libraries home to home around there. We end our first mission at 5.00 p.m.

Second mission we held at Tadika Lin Lin,SS3 Petaling Jaya. During morning session, we were gathering at Tadika Lin Lin and met with Datin PH Wong who is the founder of Toy Libraries, also Mr Hor and Mr Tan who are the great innovators. In the discussion part, we learnt so many things that related to our field as a civil engineer. We were very glad and grateful as they can share experiences and ideas in working as an innovators.

After we got the brief from them, we started to look around the Tadika Lin Lin and Mr Hor showed some of their projects which one of it was hydroponic plants. We also learnt new things about the method to plant the tree.

Next, after we enjoyed our session outside, we started to assign the works to each members to help them cleaning and clearing the area of Tadika Lin Lin. The girls of Civangers were helping Datin Wong to clean the bookshelf and arranged the books and toys on the shelf.

Above is the shelf after we completed on arranging the books and toys accordingly. Besides, the boys of Civangers team were helped to clean the outside area of Tadika Lin Lin. This picture was the outside of Tadika before they cleaned.

After finished the outside area, the boys helped Mr Tan to clean the inside area of Tadika.

After finished all the works, we took a rest for a while before we went back to campus. We got an opportunity to learn about the art skill from Mr Hor. He is one of the innovators who create the art from old newspaper and other waste materials.

In this mission, my team and I were finished at 5.00 p.m.Even it so tired but we enjoy every moment over there.😇

The day before Carnival Day will be held,my team and I were went to Apartment Idaman to discuss and distributed the flyers to promote our Carnival Day to community of Apartment Idaman.

The third mission of Civangers UM and I is Carnival Day with kids at Apartment Idaman.This was held on 13th April 2019. The activities at the carnival day were aerobics session, cooking session, gotong-royong and arts and crafts.In morning session, my team and I started with aerobics with kids. It making fun when parent started believed us to leave their kids to join our Carnival Day. I saw the kids face so happy. After finish aerobics, the kids got bread and mineral water as breakfast.

Then, after done aerobics, we started our cooking session with cooking simple healthy food. In this session I conducted. The menu that we did were fruit salad and sandwiches. This activity was fun because they interested to ask question about the alternative ingredients if at their home not have like we had.I am so happy they enjoy my food.

Next, after finish cooking session we started our origami session with kids, I conducted this activity with others 2 members. In this session, I taught them origami of whale and butterfly. It felt amazing when the kids with 4 to 6 years old can fold the paper and made origami with one time instruction.

Our last activity in Carnival Day is bamboo craft. In this session other team members conducted. We will do craft of butterfly key chain by using bamboo.

The end of Carnival Day is so fun and had sweet memory for Civangers UM.

At evening session, we went to The School Jaya One. It for collected the toys that people donated to Toy Libraries.It started at 2.00 p.m. until 6.00 p.m. This last activity on that day.

The last mission of Civangers UM was held at Tadika Lin Lin,Petaling Jaya. The last day activity was we did briefing and innovative activity with inventor which Mr.Hor. The activity we did was playing with string to form anything we want. This activity made our mind creative and this will help us as civil engineer in future. Besides of the activity, we also had site visit from our coordinator which is Dr.Majid Mirzaei.
